 The variety of high quality textiles being produced by skilled craftspeople across every state in India is truly outstanding. From Bandhani dyeing techniques found in Gujarat, to Ikkat weaving found in Odisha, Kalamkari block printing and dyeing found in Andhra Pradesh, to Warli painting found in Maharashtra.

 Each art form has been passed down from generation to generation often creating entire lineages of artisans. Some traditional methods of production which have been practiced for centuries are now coming under threat from cheaper, faster methods involving synthetic dyes and yarns and digitalised machinery, not to mention a dwindling interest in the younger generations to continue the traditions of their forefathers.
